Hi. I'm a 1.5 year SOAR graduate, and will be flying on Continental Friday from Newark to John Wayne in CA. The program has been great, and has really
helped me. However, I've been feeling a high-ish level of anticipatory anxiety for this flight, and I think it is because of the Buffalo crash. It has
really been stressing me out.

I love what you said! "I'm always worried prior to and during a flight, but it's my choice to fly. The alternative is unacceptable." I
even wrote it down to keep on-hand. I have a flight scheduled this summer and know I'll be pulling out that quote from time to time. I'm sure you
didn't intend to be an author, but I find it very inspiring. Thanks!

The Buffalo accident freaks me out, too. Rumor and innuendo do nothing to help us fearful fliers. I just try to remind myself that these tragedies, however
caused, are very rare. Indeed, on the day after the Buffalo accident I flew on a Dash-8 commuter plane with no problems at all! And, I'll be on a
Continental Express flight tomorrow morning. I'm always worried prior to (and a lot of times, during) a flight, but it is my choice to fly. The alternative
(missed work, career opportunities, vacations -- I just went to Rome!!, family reunions, weddings and funerals) is unacceptable.

However, with respect to the very sad Buffalo situation: I understand that the plane "fell" because its air speed was too slow. The reason its air
speed was too slow is up for debate, but some in the media are suggesting (see flight magazine.com blog comments) "pilot error." The basis of the
pilot error, if any, is also very debatable, and potentially springs from a lot...

"fell." I've been trying to integrate this concern into my practice of the strengthening exercise and am refreshing myself with the dvds and the
emails. Any suggestions about how to approach this going into my Friday flight would be much appreciated...
