Having spent some time as a First Officer and a Captain on the CRJ-200 and 700, I can tell you that they are great airplanes. The technology far exceeds that
of the DC-9 I am currently flying. The only down side of the CRJ-200, is the air conditioning system. It blows cold air at the foot level instead of the
overhead. It was a flaw that they fixed with the -700. It also gets very warm during taxi if the crew turns off the APU. Other than that, it is a great
airplane that is virtually impossible to land hard.

I've had numerous rides in the CRJ-700, which is a stretched version of the -200. That included a ride in the cockpit jumpseat last year, shortly before I
retired.

It's a very modern, sophisticated airliner. I was completely impressed with the cockpit instrument and navigation displays.

Cheers.

Everyone gets anxious about these planes before they try them. Once they try them, in almost every case, people like them, and in some cases, like them better.

They are full-fledged airlines. They have all the bells and whistles. Good machines with a great safety record.
