Hey guys!! I made it!!
I was boarding my flight with shaky legs this morning, lots of jitters..but KNEW it was time...I was with boarding group A and got on the plane early...but, I got concerned when I first got on the airplane..it seemed small to me at first...but after I sat down and everyone was seated..it wasnt too bad. I took an aisle seat, had 2 veteran flyers next to me who were just AWESOME to talk to. I thank them sooo much for being there for me to talk to the whole flight!
I liked the way the plane flew down the runway..I was smiling to myself..thinking..OMG..i am actually doing this...I can honestly say the only thing I
really didnt like was the way I felt like I was "dropping" while taking off...it hit me only a couple times..but then I was OK. Like It only lasted
seconds. While in the air..it was slightly choppy the entire flight..very slightly. My head felt weird at times..but I guess that was cabin pressure or
whatever. I chewed my gum, and I listened to my MP3...talked to my seat mates..etc...
During our approach..we had what the pilot called " moderate chop". I was a bit nervous then..but AGAIN, my 2 pals sitting next to me told me it was
fine and sometimes normal during the landing process...we were getting to our destination quicker than expected....but felt like I was never gonna see the
ground! I kept looking out hoping to see it closer....it seemed to take forever to get closer to the ground! Then of course..lots of clouds and very
overcast too..but when I did see the ground..it still seemed sooo far away. Maybe that is normal...but we finally got there..and our landing was smooth....But
at any rate...
I think I did pretty well though....
I cant say that I loved it. ...but again, it wasnt horrible.. to me it was exciting, but nerve wracking during our approach...I didnt like the way the plane
bounced for those 10 minutes or so.
I wish my head didnt feel lightheaded during certain times..and Im not sure why it did...but the flight attendant told me it was just the cabin pressure. It
wasnt horrible though. I was excited to see my parents, and call everyone to let them know I finally flew and that I made it safe!!!
On my return flight back to St. Louis next week (aug 9th) ..I will have my boyfriend with me.. yay! I may feel a little better..but I cant worry about it yet.
I know i certainly wont be like I was this past week leading up to it.
Now i know what to expect while flying.
I just pray this next flight is alot smoother while going in on approach!
So is the lightheadedness from cabin pressure? I didnt eat at all. this morning...I was too nervous...I also took a Klonopin, dramamine and a Tylenol
before my flight.. could that have contributed at all?
I wasnt sick or anything ...just at times I felt it in my head in a weird way. It would only last seconds if anything. So I laid my head back on the seat and
I was fine...
Of course after landing, I was starved and couldnt wait to eat! LOL I took my snack from the airplane and ate it in the car!
