I'll try to sum everything up..since most of us are anxious:) fliers...I booked a trip to Fl from CT on Delta 3 months or so ago and just doublechecked the plane that I would be on.
A big surprise then occurred. While checking the seating availability on the plane, I noticed that the original 2 by 3 seating on the scheduled MD-88 was now a 3 by 3 seating chart. It then said that the plane was directed by Northwest Airlines (NWA).
Obviously I called right away:) They stated that since the merger, they changed the planes for that trip. I originally had row 14...(I know Capt. Tom states that the closer to the front of the plane, the less turbulence). I called and Delta stated that I could sit right behind the first class(row 5) This was nice. However, when I called again to get an updated itinerary, the woman told me those seats are saved for medallion members...which is true. I said ok...I was then assigned to row 10..
I did tell the woman that I spoke with that they really should notify people of the change of planes, seats, even the time(a few minutes). I do enjoy Delta and I know NWA is excellent as well...and they both have Unions..I was just disapointed at the failure to notify me:(
