I have still been reading here, although I haven't posted in a while. I flew from Chicago to Phoenix and back in January with very little fear.
I have a trip coming up next week, though, that I'm getting a little anxious about. It's a round trip between Chicago and New Orleans on American Airlines. But it was only after I'd paid for the ticket that I noticed the flight from Chicago to New Orleans is on a regional jet. A CRJ 700.
I know that booking American is best because they are the only ones that don't outsource their maintenance. I also know that any jet is just as safe as another. I also know that American hires quality pilots.
But the "regional" thing is still bothering me for some reason. I also feel a lot more comfortable flying in the winter, when the chance of T-storms and such is diminished. It's also a night flight, which I like less.
For some reason, the flight back home on my trusty old MD-82 doesn't have me worried at all.
Someone straighten me out? I feel crappy being so anxious again, but I'm doing the strengthening exercise.
