I am new to this forum. I haven't flown in 5 years and I will be flying from NY to CA in 2 weeks. It will also be my first time flying alone. The last time I flew, I remember being more anxious pre-flight than during flight. However, I also remember having a rough flight.
The things that make me anxious are:
take-off
imagining how far up we are
being alone
turbulence
after reading the topic on airlines, I am flying Virgin America which doesn't seem to have a union nor an established flight record, it being so new.
talking to people that don't fear flying and that say "you'll be fine"
The things that help me are:
this forum
talking to people who fear flying and hearing their solutions
Virgin America: WIFI, movies, music, video games, ambient light
seeing calm people during flight
though I am not PRO-meds at all, someone suggested I take Bonine before flight to ease my anxiety
thinking about the fun I will have in CA
thinking about things I will do when I come back
I will continue reading more and definitely hope to get some tips before my flight on June 27th.
Thanks!
