It has been quite sometime since I have posted on here but I do come on occassionally and lurk.
I am actually a graduate of the SOAR program (when it was on cassette, I think back in 2001).I do not fly very often, once maybe twice a year. I really have come along way, and felt like I have conquered my fear of flying!
Now with recent events such as: US air,Buffalo, plus the fact that the Southwest flight that had to make an emergency landing in Las Vegas after an engine caught fire was the same flight I flew home on last year I am feeling alittle nervous and apprehensive again about flying in May.
My real question though is regarding JetBlue, and Virgin America. I am looking at those two airlines as they have the lowest airfares at this time, and I like that the have the T.V's comfortable cabins, etc..However I know that both of these airlines do not belong to the airline pilot's union. I know that it is important but JetBlue does have a very good safety record to date. I am not sure if one could really judge Virgin American since they are so new on the scene. While Virgin Atlantic has a union, and a good safey record I don't know if I should choose Virgin America.
So my question is: how do you feel about flying on these two airlines?
Any opinons/assistance would be greatly appreciated!
thanks,
